Patty Tobin wraps up her first circuit of Trunk Shows at Bloomingdale’s in New York and New Jersey this month. The jewelry designer will announce her next series of showcase events for the fall in the coming months, so stay tuned!

It’s hard to believe that it’s already July, and that we’ve officially wrapped up our first full series of Patty Tobin Trunk Show events at Bloomingdale’s! But here we are with 27 exciting days of showcase events under our belt (with more to come this Fall!) After 12 weeks of shows at four different Bloomingdale’s locations including New York City, White Plains, and Hackensack and Short Hills, New Jersey, Patty Tobin and I sat down to take stock of our biggest “show-stoppers” and customer favorites, and to put together our first TOP 10 BESTSELLERS LIST!

Patty Tobin and her colorful collection of fine fashion jewelry has been a hit at each of our Trunk Show events at Bloomingdale’s in White Plains. We can’t wait to return for more events this fall!

For those of you who are familiar with our “Fine Fashion” jewelry line, you already know that Patty creates a lot of “one-a-kind” and “few-of-a-kind” pieces in addition to her classic Patty Tobin signature styles, or our “standard bearers,” as she would call them. (For those of you who are checking us out for the first time, many of Patty’s designs are just that: “One-of” or “few-of” a kind pieces (a.k.a. limited edition items) and when they go, they’re gone; some will be replicated, but very seldom duplicated.)

The collection we brought with us to these shows, which kicked off back in March in New York City at Bloomingdale’s highly anticipated and widely promoted “HOT” event, represented a “Perfectly Patty” combination of said “One-ofs” and the designer’s “signature styles”. So, when we sat down to put together our TOP 10 list, we were faced with a bit of a challenge. We wanted to include not only the pieces that had sold the most in number, and were therefore obvious customer favorites, but also the real “show-stoppers” that may only have sold once due to the fact that they were, in fact, “one-of-a-kind” pieces. In the end, this is what we resolved to feature as our TOP 10 “RAVES & FAVES” AT BLOOMINGDALE’S:

#1) NEW Shell Pearl Lariats

Patty Tobin’s newest addition to the designer’s collection was a huge hit at every single Bloomingdale’s show! Tobin’s new Shell Pearl Lariat ($395) comes in a variety of colors, including the Butter Yellow (left) and Tahitian Black (right) shown above, plus White, Pink, Platinum and more. Clasps are adjustable, allowing you to fit to just about any neckline, and come in yellow or white 18K vermeil.

 #2) 16MM Shell Pearls

There’s a reason we often refer to our Shell Pearls as “the little black” dress of the line, and their popularity at our Bloomingdale’s Trunk Shows just goes to show how true that is. At $295, this lovely 18″ shell pearl necklace comes in a variety of colors and suits ages 18 to 80. It is such an easy wear that you’ll find the hardest part is not deciding whether or not to get it, but which of these fabulous color combinations to get it in!

#3) Ladies loved the LAB!

Bloomingdale’s shoppers and staff alike, simply loved our labradorite pieces! Both the briolette torsade (above left, $995) and the baby briolette and rondelle hand-wrapped 18K vermeil chains (above right, $395 each) were huge showstoppers! And good examples of our “one-of” and “few-of-a-kind” pieces — “often replicated, but never duplicated.” Cheers to the ladies that took home these stunning pieces!!

#4) Bali gets ’em every time

Simple, understated and elegant, our Bali Sterling and Freshwater Pearl necklace, earring and bracelet set have long been one of our most popular items and Bloomingdale’s was no different. Although many are drawn to our bigger, brighter, more “statement” pieces at first, our Bali set seems to win out every time. The 18″ necklace ($295) makes for a lovely everyday wear that can easily be dressed up for formal occasions. The earring ($135) and bracelet ($195) make for a great addition to just about any woman’s jewelry collection as they are both easy to throw on and go everyday or pair with more pieces for a fuller statement look. Our long 36″ rope ($495) with its versatility going from a long necklace to a short doubled-up one makes it an easy stand alone piece or a great one for layering. We couldn’t keep these items in stock at the shows; every time we got more in, they flew right out again!

#5) + #6) + #7) Crazy for QUARTZ!!

“Crazy for Quartz” is right! There’s no better way to say it then that! Bloomingdale’s customers were loving all of the above (from left to right): Aqua Quartz large briolette necklace ($350), Clear Quartz 14MM necklace ($295), and our “mega” quartz statement piece: Aqua Quartz Briolette Torsade ($895).

#9) Fire Agate Ropes fly right out!

Our colorful Fire Agate Ropes ($450) were a huge hit at these shows!! Their unusual color and texture was so attention getting that they were among the first to sell right out in every color. It’s hard to say which were most popular, but if I had to pick a Top 3, I’d have to say the Orange & White (above left), the Blue & Yellow (above left) and the Black & Teal (not shown).

 #10) Freshwater Pearl & Gemstone Lariats

Our Freshwater Pearl Lariats with their gemstone and Swarovski crystal detail are truly unique pieces that you simply won’t find anywhere else. As versatile as they are lovely, these colorful necklaces can be worn a number of different ways and come in a variety of colors, including pale pink/rose quartz (shown above, left), bronze/citrine, purple/amethyst, white/clear quartz, and many others. On March 14th Patty Tobin and I kicked off our first series of trunk shows at Bloomingdale’s! I’m gonna tell you all about it, but first I just want to say one thing to summarize how it went: WOHOOO!!! Patty and I couldn’t have been happier with our first two weeks of shows!

You would not believe how thrifty we were when it came to fitting all of our jewelry in such a tight space, but we got creative and totally made it work! From left to right: Me, Teal Rahmati, Patty Tobin, and Julie Chan.

Our colorful collection of Fire Agate gemstone ropes and Freshwater Pearl Lariats were drawing shoppers in like moths to a flame! It was so much fun to see!

Simply put, the jewelry was a smash hit! The colors pulled people right in, and the prices — as usual for Patty Tobin — were so reasonable people couln’t believe it!  It wasn’t just the customers responding to the jewelry either; everyone — from the sales associates on the selling floor to the personal shoppers upstairs to the various makeup artists running back and forth — was loving the collection!

In all honesty, we would have been more than happy with the opportunity to showcase our jewelry at any Bloomingdale’s store, but I have to say, there really was something very special about debuting at the 59th Street flagship store in Manhattan. It may just be my long-time love affair with that particular department store — or maybe it’s because it’s such an amazingly iconic place — but whatever the reason, I have to tell you: Each morning when the loud speakers around the store would sound off at 10AM sharp with a loud siren blast that let everyone know the doors were officially open for business, and Frank Sinatra’s voice came ringing out to “New York, New York,” I felt a truly thrilling sensation.

Patty loves to be on the floor interacting with customers. She's always been the face of her company, there to meet and greet, and talk to everyone.

It wasn’t just the excitement, or the nerves for that matter, but an overwhelming sense of pride that bubbled up inside me, filling me with utter confidence. Pride for my amazing aunt, who has worked so hard to get this far. Pride in her amazing jewelry designs and all the wonderful people who have been such dedicated supporters of Patty Tobin; people who know and love the jewelry, appreciate its value, and who recognize Patty’s incredible talent.  Pride that we are still one of the few jewelry companies that actually manufactures our products not just in the U.S., but right here in our home state of New York. And just an overall sense of satisfaction for how hard we’ve worked and how far we’ve come since openning our first Patty Tobin Fine Fashion Jewelry boutique in 2009.

With six days of shows at 59th Street and two in Short Hills, NJ, we got to meet so many wonderful people. Patty and I were both loving the opportunity to interact with so many new customers, fellow designers and entrepreneurs, as well as Bloomingdale’s amazing staff. The energy on the selling floor of such a large retailer as Bloomingdale’s is really quite invigorating. Despite being on our feet for 14 hours a day for the better part of those two weeks, as soon as we stepped on the floor, I could see we were both energized — “rearing and ready to go,” as they say!

Patty really outdid herself with the jewelry for these shows. The pieces she designed for Bloomingdale’s events included several of my all-time favorite Patty Tobin styles, plus a whole bunch of brand new pieces that were so new, in fact, even I didn’t get a chance to see them all until we were setting up on the first day!

The colors were just magnificent! Sparkling blues, rich purples and bright bursts of orange that were literally stopping people in their tracks. We had plenty of pearls, as always, but we had an especially fabulous collection of stunning “gemmy-gem gems,” as Patty would call them.

We are so pleased to announce the U.S. debut of our good friend and renowned Lithuanian jewelry designer, Yurga Lago, at the annual ENK Coterie Show in New York City!

ENK Coterie is the year’s most exclusive global fashion trade show, filled with notable as well as burgeoning designers, and attended by the industry’s elite. Yurga will be showcasing her jewelry for the first time stateside at this year’s event on February 24, 25, 26 at the Javits Center.

Yurga has built a name for herself in Lithuania and many parts of Eastern Europe over the last several years and we know New York will be her next destination!

Patty Tobin and Yurga Lago are continuing to build on their collaborative projects, which started back in 2011 when Yurga first hosted two trunk shows for Patty Tobin in two of Lithuania’s most incredible cities: Vilnius and Klaipeda. We are so glad to have been invited to participate in last week’s United Nations Bazaar. The whole event was such a fun experience. Hosted this year at the Kuwait Mission to the United Nations in New York, this annual shopping event is organized to raise money for various humanitarian charities. This year’s Bazaar was dedicated to the refugee victims of Syria, who have been suffering greatly due to their current situation.

The event attracted a wonderfully eclectic mix of vendors to participate in the all-day event that brought together a diverse international crowd. Hundreds crowded in over the course of the day to support an important cause while enjoying delicious international cuisine and fabulous shopping.

It was a full house at this year's event with guests crowing through the Kuwait Mission's gorgeous ballroom.

Patty Tobin brought a colorful selection of classic and playful styles that capture this season’s hottest trends: large statement style necklaces, pink pearls, blue, blue, and more blue accessories. Our colorful gemstone chains were one of our hottest items. They come in such great colors like our rich red (carnelian), bright blue (topaz), chocolate brown (smokey topaz), black (onyx), and purple (amethyst). And at $295, these babies are really a steal! Patty Tobin brought a beautiful showing of her colorful gemstone and pearl jewelry to ITEM Boutique yesterday for our first in-store trunk show on the Upper East Side. Thanks to our wonderful host and owner of ITEM, Wendy, we had two beautiful models there to strut their stuff in Patty’s gorgeous jewels while guests had a chance to enjoy some wine and shop the collection. It was a great night filled with fun, fashion and fabulous baubles. We can’t wait to partner with Wendy again. Stay tuned for more news and updates about the boutique and our line. This style is really such an easy piece to throw on and go. Whether you wear it long (about 40″), or doubled-up to fit better with some necklines, or layered with a second chain (my personal favorite) for a fuller statement look. This necklace suits any lady from 18-80, it can easily go day or night and makes for a lovely gift to someone special or even as a little treat to yourself. And at $295 each, they won’t break the bank. No buyers remorse here, we can promise you.
