Friends of Patty Tobin
We were so happy to meet Jeannine Morris last week. Not only is Jeannine a total doll, but she’s also recently been named one of the top beauty and style bloggers in the world by Glamour magazine. Jeannine’s blog, BeautySweetSpot.com, is a fabulous online dish site where she keeps her readers up to speed on the latest coveted celebrity secrets, while providing informative beauty, style, health and fitness tips. You can find Jeannine’s articles elsewhere though on sites like iVillage.com, Glamour.com, and DailyGlow.com. She’s also part of Glamour’s Young & Posh blogger network and contributes to Glamour.com regularly. If you aren’t familiar with her stuff, you should definitely check her out!
Because of her authoritative voice in beauty, lifestyle and style, we were so thrilled when she chose to write about us last week! In her post, VIP Pass to the Industry: Patty Tobin, Jeannine writes that her meeting with Patty was “love at first sight! Not just with her pieces, but with [the designer’s] magnetic personality and energetic ‘I can do anything’ attitude.” Jeannine instantly recognized the value we offer at Patty Tobin by keeping “price points affordable” across the board for the high-quality jewelry Patty produces. We simply can’t wait to drape Jeannine on the red carpet! You can read her write-up on Patty and the store here.

Residents of Beaufort County, South Carolina, are eagerly awaiting the grand green re-opening of Tanger Outlets Center 1 shopping center, which is slated for March 31. The new center will replace one opened by other developers in 1987 and bought by Tanger in 2003 and will be the state’s first shopping center to be certified by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards (LEEDs). The original center was poorly built and could not accommodate many tenants’ request for large spaces, Tanger officials said, but the new center fixes all of that and more. Developers proudly announced the addition of several new retailers, including Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, Adidas, Bare Escentuals, Brooks Brothers, DKNY Donna Karan New York, Hugo Boss, J.Crew, and many more. “Our brands are aspirational,” said Mona Walsh, Tanger assistant vice president for corporate communications. “What we’re offering is value.” Check out WHHI-TV’s video interview with Mona Walsh to learn more about the economic and environmental benefits of the much anticipated new shopping center. Patty Tobin joined co-organizers, Sheri Best and Lisa Ricciardi, and First Lady of New York State Michelle Paige Patterson, last week at the Women in Construction & Real Estate Networking Event held at the Haworth building in New York City. The purpose of the night: to celebrate and empower women pursuing careers in nontraditional employment fields such as construction, real estate, transportation, facilities maintenance, green and energy industries. These women are an important part of this dynamic effort to help women lead and succeed in this challenging economy.
As a woman who worked for more than a decade leading her own private contracting firm before turning to pursue her passion for jewelry design, Tobin was asked to say a few words about her experience running her own construction company in such a male-dominated industry. Tobin spent the night speaking to guests about the critical importance of creating better business opportunities for women. To help boost proceeds for the event, Tobin also donated a lovely bronze shell pearl necklace, which will go to benefit NEW: Nontraditional Employment for Women. You can check it out along with other pictures from the night here!
TV personalities, long-term clients and friends gathered at our Chelsea Boutique on September 10th to celebrate our one-year anniversary. It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year since we opened our doors in New York! We were a new and different addition to the neighborhood then, but as I look through these photos, I see how much has happened in a year and how many of our New York friends and neighbors have become a part of the Patty Tobin family. There was little more we could have asked for then to have our biggest supporters, our partners, our clients, our friends and our family all together enjoying, what turned out to be, one hell of a party! Guests sipped champagne and karaoked their hearts out well past midnight! Visit our Facebook page for the best selection of photos from the party or you can check them out on Guest of a Guest.
